ISD’s Steven Rai on the resurgence of the neo-Nazi accelerationist group The Base

Steven Rai, a Digital Research Analyst at ISD, spoke to The Guardian about The Base, a neo-Nazi accelerationist group that recently called for attacks on Ukrainian individuals and infrastructure. The article examines The Base’s recent activity, as well as the possibility of its connections to Russia. 

“While neo-Nazi accelerationists often exaggerate their reach, there is no denying The Base’s resurgence,” Steven explained.  

“The Base’s operations in Ukraine need to be taken seriously,” he added. “As they have repeatedly demonstrated an ability to attract new recruits who then proceed to plan acts of catastrophic violence.”
